Outreach

My passion for coding started in 2015 with FIRST LEGO League Explore and I have participated in all levels of FIRST Robotics. After spending a decade in FIRST, and over 300 hours of Robotics volunteering, I am proud of the impact I have made in my community. I aim to inspire more students to explore the world of robotics.

FLL Mentoring 2024
This year, I mentored and guided four FLL challenge teams in my community, three new to the FLL Challenge. I helped them address code issues and test new mechanisms. Mentoring was a rewarding experience and it allowed me to give back to my community while sharing my knowledge and passion for robotics.

Blocks Programming - FLL Rookie Teams
I taught WordBlocks programming to Team #65135 and Team # 65870. Both teams are composed of elementary students who are new to programming. My lessons provided them with valuable knowledge that supported them throughout the season.

Library Programming Workshops
2022- Present
We have hosted several programming workshops at the Gum Spring Library, where we taught students the basics of Python and WordBlocks using the LEGO Spike Prime. At the end of our fun and interactive sessions, students worked on creating a simple autonomous car as a final project.

FLL Mentoring 2022
This was my first year mentoring team #56151, and I introduced them to the FLL Challenge competition. I also guided two FLL Explore teams, helping them start their FIRST journey. It was a special year for me, as I was involved in four levels of FIRST at the same time.

Scratch Programming
2022
I taught students the Scratch programming language in a fun, interactive way through several games. They learned advanced Scratch concepts, such as gravity and functions.

FIRST Info Sessions
2022- Present
I have hosted FIRST info sessions at libraries in Loudoun County. Participants learned how to start a robotics team and explored FLL Explore, FLL Challenge, and FTC robots up close. Participants also engaged in a Q&A with current robotics team members and mentors. As a result of our several info sessions, over 9 FLL teams have been formed! Mentoring and guiding six of these teams has been a rewarding experience.
